Examples

From one match situation to the next training action.

Each example follows the same professional path: what I observe, how I interpret it, which alternative is realistic and what I would train next.

01

Illustrative senior-match scenario · Wide attack

Starting position before the cross

42 sec.

What I see

The goalkeeper follows the ball but loses the relationship between the ball, the first attacker and the space behind the defensive line.

A realistic alternative

Adjust earlier with two smaller movements, remain able to move both forward and backwards, and delay the final set position until the delivery becomes clear.

What to train next

Train variable crosses with a changing starting zone. Score the goalkeeper on information, adjustment and decision—not only the final contact.
02

Illustrative senior-match scenario · Central breakthrough

Controlling the distance in a 1-v-1

38 sec.

What I see

The goalkeeper attacks the situation before the forward's touch has created a clear trigger and therefore removes the possibility of reacting.

A realistic alternative

Close the space with control, stay balanced for one more touch and accelerate only when the ball leaves the attacker's immediate control.

What to train next

Use 1-v-1 exercises with changing touch length and reward recognition of the trigger, controlled speed and the ability to stop.
03

Illustrative senior-match scenario · Build-up under pressure

Creating the next passing option

47 sec.

What I see

After playing the first pass, the goalkeeper remains behind the pressure line and does not create a useful return option for the centre-back.

A realistic alternative

Move immediately after the pass, create a new angle outside the opponent's cover shadow and communicate before the return becomes necessary.

What to train next

Build the movement into possession practices where the goalkeeper must create two different return angles and name the next option before receiving.

The written handover

The PDF keeps the priority clear after the video ends.

It summarises the situations, the development focus and the actions the staff can bring into the next training sessions.
